Life is changing. Let’s make it good.
Midlife is an interesting season, isn’t it?
So much changes. Our bodies change, our families change, and the lives we’ve spent years building start to look different. Our kids grow up and find their own way, relationships evolve, and we start asking ourselves new questions about what we want this next chapter to look like.
Some of it is wonderful. Some of it is hard. And sometimes it’s a little of both.
But somewhere in all those changes, I think there’s an opportunity to rediscover parts of ourselves, try new things, find more joy in everyday life, and create a life that feels good to us.
That’s what Creating Happy Midlife is all about.
A little about me
I’m Mindy Heath and I’m someone who believes that a happy life isn’t about having everything figured out, getting everything right, or pretending the hard stuff doesn’t exist.
It’s about learning to appreciate the good, being intentional about how we spend our time and energy, staying curious, and making room for the things that bring us joy.
I’ve learned that happiness doesn’t always come from making big changes. Sometimes it’s found in the little things — a meaningful conversation, a new place to explore, a tradition with your family, a date with your husband, or discovering something that makes everyday life a little easier or more enjoyable.
I also believe we can be honest about the hard parts of life while still looking for what’s good. We don’t have to force positivity or pretend everything is fine. We can acknowledge what’s difficult and still choose to create more moments that make life feel meaningful.
And I think we can keep growing, learning, laughing, and discovering new things about ourselves at any age.
What you’ll find here
Think of this as a place for ideas, inspiration, and thoughtful finds to help you enjoy this season of life a little more.
You’ll find things like:
- Everyday joy: Simple ideas for bringing more happiness, fun, and meaning into ordinary days.
- Relationships and family: Ideas for staying connected with your grown kids, creating traditions, nurturing your marriage, and enjoying this next stage of life.
- Adventure and experiences: Places to explore, things to try, and ways to make more memories together.
- Thoughtful finds: Products, gifts, and practical ideas that make life a little more enjoyable, comfortable, beautiful or healthy.
- A little perspective: Reflections on navigating change, letting go of what no longer serves us, and making room for what matters now.
Not everything here will be profound. Sometimes a little inspiration is just a fun idea, a great gift, or something that makes you smile. I think there’s room for all of it.
Let’s create a life we love
I don’t think happiness is something we find once and then we’re set for life. I think it’s something we keep creating, in big ways and small ones, through the choices we make and the things we make room for.
And I don’t think midlife means our best days are behind us.
There are still new places to go, things to learn, experiences to have, relationships to deepen, and so many little things to look forward to.
My hope is that Creating Happy Midlife gives you ideas that spark something, encourages you to try something new, or simply reminds you to notice and enjoy more of the good that’s already around you.
Because this chapter of life is still being written.
Let’s make it a good one.
